There are two main powers operating in the universe. One Person is God and the other is the Devil.

Who is God?

God created all things and is Almighty (Genesis 1:1). He is the most loving Person there ever was, is or will be (1 John 4:8). He is Gracious, Longsuffering and plenteous in Mercy (Exodus 34:6). God is Righteous. He is Holy and Just.

Who is the Devil?

The Devil is a fallen angel; one who rebelled against God. He and other angels who rebelled with him were thrown out of Heaven. The Devil is also a person who is a liar and the father of lies (Matthew 8:44). He comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). He is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

Who is man?

Man is the highest creation of God created in the image and likeness of God. He is made up of spirit, soul and body. He was created to have fellowship with God.

What is Hell and Heaven?

Hell is made for the devil and his angels (not for man). Hell is a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and everlasting torment, day and night. ( And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. - mark 9:43-48). To take vengeance for the condemnation he has justly received, the devil wants mankind to suffer the same punishment. Hence, he tempted the first woman created by God to eat the forbidden fruit that God told them not to eat. The woman and the man ate, disobeying God and began to shift the blame for their own sin on someone other than themselves. They did this instead of admitting their sin and asking for forgiveness. Since God is holy, righteous and just he had to cast them out of the beautiful garden that He had created for them. Thus sin entered the world. This incident is recorded in Genesis chapter 3. In the Bible, it is clear that sin separates man from God (Isaiah 59:2). Now, man by nature has become a sinner so that he cannot go to Heaven . He deserves to go to Hell. However, God is so loving that he does not want man to go to Hell. He wants us to go to Heaven and live with Him forever. Heaven is the most beautiful place, with streets of gold, no sorrow, no tears, no hunger, full of peace and happiness all the time.  A place to be desired more than any other in the universe (Revelation 21:4, 21:21).

How to get saved?

God loved us so much that inspite of our sin, He has made a way for us to come back to Him and to live with Him in this wonderful place called Heaven, though we do not deserve it. God came into this world (1 Timothy 3:16), born of a virgin, knew no sin, lived a perfect sinless life, gave His sinless blood for us on the cross, died for our sins, rose from the grave victoriously on the third day and is going to come again for His people . If you just believe with all your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, that He rose from the dead on the third day, and confess with your mouth in all sincerity that Jesus is Lord; then you will be saved and be made ready for Heaven (Romans 10:9,10). You should also confess your sins to JESUS and ask him to forgive you and cleanse you from all your sins (1 John 1:9). When God forgives us, He does not remember our sins any more (Isaiah 43:25). He looks at us as if we have never sinned; so great is His mercy.  The Bible says that as soon as you do this you are born into the family of God (John 1 :22).  This is what the bible calls being born again or salvation (John 3:5-8).  The whole Heaven rejoices when one sinner repents(Luke 15:7).

After this first step, you have to read the bible and obey it in order to grow (1 Pet 2:2). Salvation or being born into the family of God is so simple and free that it has become difficult for many people to believe . They would rather do something that is difficult or travel somewhere to discover the way to get to heaven and/or pay for it, than to believe the simple truth that can change their life now and forever (1 Corinthians 1:18).

All roads do not lead to Heaven. The Bible very clearly says that there are only two roads with two different destinations. One is the broad way that leads to destruction (Hell) and many choose to travel on that path. The other is the narrow way that leads to life (HEAVEN) and few choose to travel in it (Matthew 7:13, 14). Jesus very clearly says, "I am the way the truth and the life, "I am the bread of life", "I am the light of the world", "I am the door" (John 10:9, 11). The Bible says (Acts 4:12, 1 Thess 1:9), God never forces anyone to become his child.  Out of love, He keeps calling you now, even through this material that you are reading (Hebrews 4:7). "Today if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts ..".   If you reject Jesus Christ and His Love then you remain unforgiven as a sinner.

After you die you have to face this great God who created you, loved you and died for you. There is going to be a day when God is going to judge the people according to the choices that they have made, when they were alive on the earth (Hebrews 9:27) (Revelation 20:12). A book will be open in front of God and if your sins are not forgiven then all the sins that you have done from childhood will be exposed before everyone in the whole world (Ecclesiastes 12:14) and you will be sent to the same place where the devil and his angels who rebelled against God are sent. Remember hell is a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and everlasting torment night and day (Mark 9:43, 44). Those who follow the devil and do the works of the devil will go to the place where the devil belongs (Revelation 21:8).

God never sends anyone to hell.  Do not blame God if you end up in hell. It is purely YOUR CHOICE. IF YOU MAKE THE WRONG CHOICE, YOU WILL REGRET THROUGHOUT ETERNITY FOR MAKING THE WRONG CHOICE. JESUS LOVES YOU AND HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO GO TO HELL. HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE HAPPILY WITH HIM IN HEAVEN. WILL YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AND LIVE? YOU WILL NEVER REGRET FOR CHOOSING HEAVEN.

How and what to pray?

If you want to be God's child, you must believe what you have read above; that Jesus died on the cross to wash away your sins with His Holy Blood. If you are serious about this matter, then you are welcome to pray the following prayer. You can put it in your words if you want. But remember this: you must believe with all your heart.

"Lord, please save me. Please forgive me of all my sins which I have done. Thank You for sending your Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins. Thank You that He rose from the dead. Jesus, I believe that You are the Lord. Help me to obey Your commandments. Thank You Lord for Your great mercy on me and for your great salvation. In Jesus' Precious Name I pray. Amen."
