“Lord, what do you want from me
anyway?” Ulti mately, only one thing matters in the whole universe. That is, what God requires of us. Not what we require or our parents require or our president requires or our spouse or friend requires or the government requires or humanistic philosophy requires, etc. That is to say, whenever any of these above mentioned interests come into conflict with what the Lord has commanded, then we are to discard them and (in God's Way and in God's Time)do what He says only. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. - Matthew 10:37 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. - Mark 8:35 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? - Matthew 16:26
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world [its drive or motivations, methods, values, etc.], the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. - 1 John 2:15 - 17 We are all going to end up one day soon at the Throne of the Awesome God and what He requires of us will be the only thing that matters. 1. The Precious and Holy Blood of His Son must be received as the payment for our sins. By faith we must believe in Him more than anything else in this whole universe. 2. As a proof of genuinely believing in Him, we must obey Him in what He requires of us in our daily living in this God-hating world. And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in
all his ways, and to serve
the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk
humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 May the Lord continue to speak to you today through these two very important verses. For the
coming of the Lord is at hand! |
